More than ever, organisations need to become living systems ready to adapt to changes guided by disruptive trends that introduce complex and new variables into our quickly evolving environments. Therefore, the way we work must be flexible enough to adapt without losing effectiveness and efficiency.

Celfocus Agility Flow (CAF) can be defined as a system of understanding and learning, intended to provide guidance in Celfocus teams and projects’ agility. It is not a framework, it is a system of patterns, practices, and techniques that enable dealing with complexity and constantly adapting to ongoing changes. It gives teams tools, accelerates the beginning (Bootstrap) and evolution.

The model used for CAF is a flow that highlights the transformations that occur during an evolving project and team. All previous experiences and acquired knowledge are present throughout the project’s lifecycle. In its first version, the Agility Flow provides the process sustainability needed to continuously deliver value to the customer.

However, it is continuously evolving, and the next version will support the entire flow from the idea, proposal, award, setup, development and continuous improvement.

This approach allows Celfocus teams to be prepared to deal with the changes in our world and be agile. The truth is that there are a lot of frameworks, methods, methodologies, but the core for continuously adapting and dealing with complexity is - mindset. The mindset for delivering value to customers, for small teams working in short cycles, for collaboration through the organisation, for technical excellence and simplicity.

That is the key to agile: creating a set of practices that not only enables agility but also enables a mindset that reflects organisational culture, in the behaviours and actions of teams, management, and leadership.

But every company has its context and culture, reasons why the adaptation of such practices should be taken into consideration – if not, people will just be doing things without knowing why and not understanding what. Using these approaches does not touch the mindset, so the result will always be the same – or worse – doing the same thing with a different name.

Bearing that in mind, CAF, which is not a framework or methodology, but rather what we are and how we deliver “better value, sooner, safer and happier.”
